Hurley Pro: Lower Trestles

The top surfers in the world were in SC last week for the Hurley Pro at Lower Trestles. After a week of fun combo swells, Mick Fanning edged out Dane Reynolds for the victory. I was lucky enough to tag along with Chris Bishow as he shot portraits of the surfers for Surfline. Chris used his Canon 5D MkII along with a Canon 90mm Tilt-Shift lens to create some dramatic depth of field and very interesting shots. I provided the lighting and he equipped me with a Profoto Acute B 600 pack and an Acute B head with a Profoto Beauty Dish attached. I wore the power pack in a backpack (which was hotter than heck) and attached the light to a monopod. Surfline ran a full feature on the shoot.
